Moving from take-make-waste to a system where materials keep their value.
Our current economy is largely linear: we extract resources, make products, use them and throw them away.
A circular economy designs waste out of the system. Materials are kept in use for as long as possible, then recovered and regenerated at the end of their life.
For plastics, that means better collection, recycling into new products, and converting what cannot be recycled into energy rather than letting it pollute.
It also creates value locally, through jobs in collection, sorting and processing.
